Wincore 7700 Vs Sunrise Custom
Wincore 7700 Vs Sunrise Custom
Moving from 3 "triple" openings to 2 doubles and 1 picture large window. Also 5 full size...1 about half size window. 9 openings in all. Sunrise standard series quote is $8801. Wincore 7700 series quote is $7226. Same installer and same included labor cost. What are your recommendations on these types of windows and cost? Thanks.

Sunrise is a much better product.

+1 to the previous recommendations.
Re: Wincore 7700 Vs Sunrise Custom
Thanks for the replies. What about the need for "reinforcement" I read on another thread? I am replacing 2 "triples" with a double, which makes for a wider window and it is full height. Replacing a triple with a picture windows which makes for something like a 6 ft by 6 ft. I don't understand the reinforcement that may be needed. Thanks for the help. Did the original post sound like a fair price?

If they are decently wide, I would make sure its in there. Cheap insurance.

+1. Refers to sash reinforcement on double hungs primarily, which is an option
Re: Wincore 7700 Vs Sunrise Custom
I talked to a Sunrise rep. The sash reinforcement is not available on the Sunrise. The "doubles" I am getting are about 74 inch by 73 inch. The Picture Window is the same size 74 inch by 73 inch. Would you get Sunrise in such a big window if it is not sash reinforced?

That's pushing the size limit for my liking.

Check to see what the glass thickness available on each is. double strength on the DH and 3/16 on the PW should give ya enough.
Re: Wincore 7700 Vs Sunrise Custom
I would say reinforcement is mandatory, the glass thickness is nice and a worthy upgrade but is not going to add any strength to the sash.

Oh it adds strength to the sash. Maybe little to nothing in the horizontal deflection of the CMR.
I mostly sell the Okna/Highmark 800 DX, which is standard reinforced, so I would not know issues with a unit without strong construction.

I think the horizontal deflection is where It would help most. I would be more concerned about the vertical deflection of the horizontal sash rails and I don’t see DS glass helping.
