Advice in Central Iowa

#1 Post by JamieM »

I'm looking at replacing 16 wood double hungs in a ranch built in 1969. They all have sloped sills, I'm guessing probably 7 or 8 degrees. I'd like to get a nice mid-grade vinyl replacement if possible with my own installation. After reading 100's of posts on here I've weeded out all Alside products including WW & Champion, Anderson products & Thermastar by Pella.

Looking through the yellow pages and looking at local contractor websites, below is a list of brands I found available in my area. I don't have any quotes yet and I'm not even sure if the contractors will sell to cash n carry customers. I want to get input from the pros on what brands to consider using.

I also found these brands highly recommended on the board - Gorrell, Sunrise & Okna. Unfortunately I can't find contractors in my area that carry them.

Reliabilt - sold @ Lowes
