Hi,
I'm trying to replace some 23 year old aluminum windows and I trying to sort out all of the new rules and prices. I live in the Tampa Bay area in a 140mph Hurricane wind zone so I'm told I have to replace my windows with Hurricane Impact windows. I've narrowed my search down to 3 different windows, Softlite Barcelona, Simonton Stormbreaker Plus, or PGT Wingard. Oddly I want to replace approximately 23 windows. I have offers in mind but I'm not sure what is fair in todays climate. I talked to a few companies and the price ranged from mid 30K to high 50K and all seamed to high. The research I've done has really been based on what others in this form have gotten bids for with similar windows. I'm expecting prices including installation from 18K to 25K. Am I realistic??
Just trying to get it done. Thanks for your advice!

For an impact window, I would imagine that 1K and above is the starting point.

Your price expectation is wrong.
Get actual bids then eval the situation.
