Best middle of the road window for the money
We have 3 quotes for 3 different manufacturers from 3 different installers. We need 9 double hung, 1 casement and 1 picture window. We were quoted $6700 for Climate Solutions 8500, $6500 for Climate Guard Prosource UShield Plus, and $9230 for Provia Endure EN600. I have no idea which is the better quality. We are in north Chicago suburbs and we did half our windows 12 years ago and now want to finish the rest. Any help?

The Provia is the best of those options, although its not really considered a world-beater either. The pricing on that window is solid for an upper tier performer, you may be able to find a better window for a similar price. I'd toss the other option.

You haven't seen any good windows. The pricing on the PV is in the ballpark, but you can do much better for maybe a little bit more. The other units are out-house level, they'll provide plenty of ventilation - even when they're closed.
