Is Window World actually selling the Excalibur Window?

#1 Post by kimberlyorchid »

Hello! I'm up to my eyeballs in window quotes and (mis)information! I hope someone here can clear something up for me...

The window that Window World is offering us looks and sounds a lot like the Alside Excalibur window being offered by another company (don't worry, after reading other posts, we're NOT planning to get the Excalibur:). I know Window World's windows are manufactured by AMI, which also makes the Alside windows. So is Window World offering us the same basic window, or is theirs somehow better? I believe it is the 6000 series window they've quoted us.

Thank you!

+1 .. They sell the full Alside line. Excalibur might be the 4000? ... I'm not sure on that, but it is a fact that all of their windows have a corresponding Alside line which is identical. Kudos to you for noticing! :D

Thank you! That simplifies things. We are looking at going with the Polaris Thermaweld. Though, after reading good things about the Softlite, we may decide to get a quote about that one as well.

Polaris is nice, although the Softlite is better imo. Also check out Gorell. :)

If you have an Okna dealer in your area the Okna 400 would be in the same range as the Thermalweld but with better air infiltration numbers, better spacer, and better U-Value.
